Happy 51st

Usually I send a card, and somehow that didn’t happen this year.  Logan is still hoarding her Grandpa Father’s day card and a some birthday cards for folks with birthdays before and after Father’s day, so it’s par for the course.  I can’t find any cool graphics today, so you get fairly simple.

Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!

Let’s here if for the next decade in the same hermit style, with perhaps a little less requirement for medical intervention than in recent years.

We’ve been a bit caught up in the hustle and bustle of forgotten shampoo, tracking down mattresses and buying enough fruit to feed a really big flock of lorikeets.  It helps that Jasmine is colored a little like one, but I don’t have a camera in here to post the one picture I took of her.  I’ll try to do that later, either in this post or a future one.  The hair is bound to change again too, to add to the lorikeet effect.  Xia’s been amazed by the politeness and friendliness of folks in Oregon, social security in Eugene started her paperwork, gave her the information to get it completed and directions to the Roseburg office where that needs to be done, and said “Welcome to Oregon,”.  The post office facilitated her getting a PO Box even without an Oregon ID yet, because the one in MA where she should have been able to officially been able to apply for one here with her address there verified screamed at her that it was illegal and impossible.  The one here was horrified by the other office’s behavior.  Welcome to Oregon and life as I know it.

This weekend we’re hunting for shoes for Jasmine, who managed to arrive in the oldest and most outgrown pair she owned, and has been wearing my birks since then.  Mine are only, I believe, five sizes too big.  Not that this stops her.  Then we’re off to swim time at the pool Logan takes lessons at, and Black Sheep Gathering.  We came home from it yesterday with a couple felting kits and a book on how to make felt and things out of it without knitting the thing first, which I’ve never known how to do.  Jasmine is interested in doing the needle felting, although I couldn’t resist a $3 kit to make a kitty ball toy with a bell in side for Bella, Xia and Jasmine’s cat.  She’s a Pandora II sized tuxedo cat.  She reminds me more of Narnia, the cat who vanished during the year after the fire and who I miss because she was the perfect sized friendly cat.  As opposed to Peaty who is huge and tries to walk on my head as I sleep.

Logan thinks she has the biggest new toy in the world with Jasmine in the house.  Jasmine tolerates it gracefully and patiently, and together they are cleaning Logan’s room.  Pitting cherries.  Cleaning the table after meals.  Wrestling.  I’m hearing “come’on Jazz” echo around.  I wonder how long it will take to wear thin on Jasmine.

Life here goes well.  We’re exhausted, but with luck next week will be a little slower paced.  I hope.

  1. Wow - busy times there. Logan’s First Grade photo is a great one - and I assume that’s Fairy Flower with her.

Nice to have some landmates joining you.
