At last I’m getting the pictures from Logan’s birthday up. We had a hellishly crazy couple weeks, with John in the middle of an “Assessment” at work done by the EPA I think, for part of work’s continued certification for stuff they do. That meant weeks of getting ready, Three days of folks there, and then time spent catching up with things after they were there. And a bunch of weekend days for him at work or when he really wanted to be at work but couldn’t. [Pause to find and rescue kitten who got stuck behind a trunk while tearing around the house — John noticed she’d stopped suddenly and gone silent! Good John. Five minutes of hunting and one frightened kitten.]

The Chocolate Alchemy Article appeared again in the Douglas County Ruralite, slightly shorter, in what I think is their main section, which means it’s in all their magazines not just the Douglas County ones. Presumably it’s gone out on the AP wire too, so perhaps it will show up other places. The first one generated mainly folks tracking down our phone number and asking to visit our chocolate shop, but there’s always hope for more internet business with each exposure.

Cards from Grandparents

First she opened the sandpaper, then the paint brush, then finally uncovered the desk, after much puzzlement and not realizing the big covered thing in the corner was a gift. She and john will refinish the wood and paint the iron this winter, or in the spring.

Grandma Wilma asked Logan for a picture of Logan by herself, so Logan had me take this one.

Logan supervised the icing of her cake, it has a sun at the top and is covered with round roses in evey color she and John could make. Jasmine did the candles for it.

Logan was also very pleased to get Birthday comments on the Blog, and on the phone. The next day was a bit of let down, but she lost her fifth tooth the day after that, and number six has been on the verge since thursday of that week. We continue to wait.
