Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
Today we had snow falling from before 8AM until about 4PM. John estimates we have five to six inches on the ground. He, Logan, Jasmine and I went out and threw it at each other, rolled some up in to big balls on the ground, and Logan made a small snow person. It’s very pretty. Logan’s alternating between sets of leggings — one dries behind the wood stove while she’s outside playing in the other.
It’s not announced yet, but I’m very doubtful that school will be open tomorrow. A couple Lane County schools and several Douglas County schools have already posted closures for tomorrow. There’s a “Heavy Snow Warning” (I think that’s the name) that says to avoid traveling, and if you must travel be prepared to have to stop, and take food, water and a good flashlight with you. Snow in Eugene is listed as being in the two to seven inches on the ground, with “showers, mostly snow” for tomorrow. For us it’s two to four inches — I guess they’re not measuring here — and widespread snow showers, changing to rain and snow by tomorrow afternoon, probably. The forecast continues to call for rain and snow showers through next weekend, at this point.
I did take pictures of Charlie-Lamb today, but I haven’t loaded them on to the computer yet. Soon, really. She’s drier and fluffed out a bit, although her wool is very tightly crimped, so there’s not a whole lot of space to fluff until it grows more. Logan and Jasmine are out visiting her again now with John while he feeds the goats. Charlie and her mother Ezri will get let out this evening to go join the rest of the sheep, unless someone finds a reason not to while they’re out there now.
