stupid animals!

we’re trying to get back to a routine that involves going to bed at a reasonably early hour.  when John got home this evening there was a sheep with blood on his head.  It turned out that Cyclops (there’s a dot between his eyes)  had bashed his head against something and cracked a horn a little loose.  John and Logan washed his head off.  His head hurting didn’t stop Cyclops from bashing other sheep — probably extra because they made his head hurt when he did it.

Now Linx, who is really an indoor only cat but has learned to push the screen door open didn’t come in when I called him.  I took food out to rattle, and heard him meow.  Finally I looked to see where he was.  In the pasture next to the house in a drop off to the pasture, with trees, so that the tree tops are often level with the house.  Linx wasn’t in a tree top, Linx was on the top of a broken off tree — basically a 20 foot tree stump.  Sitting there, level with the ground but way too far in to the pasture for me to get.  John’s gone to rattle food at the bottom of the tree to see if a cat stupid enough to climb up a tree instead of an embankment might then come back down the tree to get his dinner.  If said cat has figured out how to climb down yet.
